Florida Hospital North Pinellas Supports the Efforts of Mt. Moriah AME Church
One of the participating organizations of the Helen Ellen Memorial Foundation, Mt. Moriah AME Church in Tarpon Springs, is happy to announce their Exposition on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Tarpon Springs Recreation Center. This event is focused on the quality of life for residents in Tarpon Springs.
“Mt. Moriah’s community development program was birthed to serve the community at large. Our vision for the [Tarpon Springs] community is to have a life skills program in place where we can teach people how to communicate, how to conduct themselves in a job interview, how to dress appropriately, proper hygiene and proper dieting,” said Reverend Stallworth of Mt. Moriah AME Church in Tarpon Springs. “We’re so excited! We want everyone to know that we’re up and running.”
The targeted audience for this program is youth, ages 10-18 and enrollment is free. This Youth Life Skills program is funded through sponsorship. One-hundred dollars of sponsorship will cover curriculum, housekeeping, snacks and space rental. The instructor for this course is Dwight Gilmer, President and CEO of TEAM International Consulting, Inc.; he is best known for his ability to stimulate human potential, goal setting, and his ability to transform human desires to realities. Reverend Stallworth thanks Mr. Gilmer and his wife, Shante, for all their help in getting this program up and running.
Hopes of a literary program, a tutoring program and more are in Reverend Stallworth’s future. Additionally he will be seeking grant funding to restore seniors’ homes in the area as well as house an AIDS awareness and testing site. His ambitions are high and his heart is full. Reverend Stallworth and Yvonne Smith are looking for volunteers to donate their time to the upcoming Exposition on January 5, 2013. Please call (863)440-3284 or (727)938-0873 for more information or to volunteer.
