Transitional Care Unit (TCU)

Some patients will need skilled nursing care and rehab services after hospitalization. The attending physician may order a stay in a specialized facility designed to help a patient get back to as normal a lifestyle as possible. At Florida Hospital North Pinellas, the skilled nursing facility is called the Transitional Care Unit. It is designed in every way to help people make a smooth transition from hospital to home. Once admitted to the TCU, the former patient becomes a temporary resident of a beautiful and comfortable facility. An expert staff provides individualized rehab and skilled nursing care to speed the recovery of each resident.
